June 15, 2022 – Decorah, IA Bust

Discussion: I met up with Miles Winslow in Decorah for lunch and looked through data to decide where to setup for the afternoon. This day was looking questionable due to morning convection but we gave it a go and hoped that the atmosphere could recover. As the low-level jet intensified later that afternoon, a complex of showers and thunderstorms quickly redeveloped and moved through an environment that was already toast from morning convection. In return, several tornadoes were spawned in a more favorable environment across Wisconsin.
