Discussion: We started off the day near Summit, South Dakota where we waited for storms to initiate and then began heading west. At about 5:30 PM that evening, a supercell thunderstorm was getting ready to close in on the town of Groton when we arrived. At approximately 6:04 PM the first tornado touched down on the south side of Groton. A second brief tornado touch down took place near Pierpont, SD at 6:29 PM. This storm continued to have rotation via radar but lined out around 8 PM that evening near Lidgerwood, North Dakota.
