Discussion: Initial storm development took place south of Sioux City and a few hours later, storms started to fire north of the line with one of them just east of Rock Rapids. We followed this storm toward the Minnesota border before the cell went HP with massive hail core. We ditched this cell and made our way southeast back toward highway 9 in northwest Iowa to intercept the second line of storms. The low-level jet strengthened later that evening spawning several tornado warnings with radar indicated rotation. We had a rotating supercell that possibly produced a small rope tornado at about 6:30 pm between Ocheyedan and Lake Park but we lost visual fighting sheets of rain so was unable to confirm this. I also want to note that we saw several cars parked under the overpass of highway 60 and highway 9 blocking traffic, assuming they were trying to protect there car from hail. Please do not do this, not only does it cause a traffic jam but this also is the worst place to be if a tornado is nearby.
