August 18, 2017 – Melvin, IA EF-2 Tornado

Discussion: A supercell developed across southwest Minnesota that afternoon and continued southeast into northwest Iowa where it grew upscale and dropped a decent sized rain wrapped tornado between Cloverdale and Melvin causing damage to several farm places and flattened corn fields. I was able to capture the full tornado on my dash cam which you can see in the video below. The supercell continued south where a second brief tornado was seen between Larrabee and Cherokee that evening.
