August 8, 2021 – Ocheyedan, IA Tornado Warned Supercell

Discussion: A supercell thunderstorm developed in southwest Minnesota around 1-2 PM that afternoon and slowly worked south into northwest Iowa. Several funnel clouds were reported before the storm crossed into Iowa. As the supercell began to approach Ocheyedan, rotation was noted by myself and several other chasers as of 4:15-420 PM. A half hour later and a brief tornado was observed by another chaser for what could be a matter of seconds before disappearing into the rain. I followed this HP supercell through Spencer and all the way to Albert City where it produced several other funnel clouds.
