June 29, 2017 – Ponca, NE Brief Tornado

Discussion: I started the day in Sioux City, Iowa where I met up with chase partner “Miles Winslow”. After discussing plans and expectations, we got some lunch and then headed west towards Ponca, Nebraska which was our target location for the day. The storm storm developed around 4 PM that afternoon and moments later was tornado warned. As approximately 4:30 PM, a tornado touched down near the town on Ponca. We continued to follow this supercell toward Dakota City, Nebraska and eventually Hornick, Iowa. Several funnel clouds were noted but no additional tornadoes that day.
